American Ninja Warrior Junior Season 3 2021, Episode 9 – Quarterfinals #1

It’s the first week of the quarterfinals. Competing in the quarters will be all the winners from the first eight episodes place some wildcard ninjas looking for a second chance.

Let’s review the format:

Ninjas compete in three divisions: 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old, and 13-14 years old. They will compete in head to head races.

The quarterfinal round features four ninjas per division. They will start in a seeding round, with the two fastest ninjas from that round taking on the two slowest ninjas in the knockout round.

The winners of the two knockout rounds move on to the quarterfinal showdown, where the winner will move on to the Finals!!!

Ninja Mentors: Jesse Labreck and Najee Richardson

9–10-Year-Old Division

The course: Hopskotch, Lunatic Ledges, Liquid Pipe, Broken Bridge, Flying Saucers, 13 Foot Warped Wall (with two hand holds)

Seeding Round: Levi Meeks vs Max Salebra

Max is running with an upset stomach, but that didn’t stop him from getting off to a fast start.

Max had the lead going into Liquid Pipe and he kept that lead all the way to Flying Saucers.

Max kept the lead all the way to the buzzer with his fastest time of the competition so far.

Seeding Round: Brandon Avila vs Michael Scott

Brandon took the lead early.

But Michael only needed one swing on Lunatic Ledges to pass Brandon.

However, the lead changed one more time as Brandon did a little one swinging of his own on Flying Saucers.

Trying to catch up, Michael slipped and fell on the fifth obstacle.

Brandon went ahead and hit the buzzer on his way to victory.

Are you faster than a Ninja Jr.?

It was father over son as Jody Avila defeated his son in a close race.

Knockout Round: Max Salebra vs Michael Scott

Max raced out to another quick start.

Max increased that lead on Liquid Pipes.

Michael hit a buzzer in this race, but it’s Max moving onto the quarterfinal showdown.

Knockout Round: Brandon Avila vs Levi Meeks

A pair of 2nd generation ninjas racing to move on!!!

And these two were tight on the first half of the course.

Brandon got some separation following liquid pipes.

And he kept that lead all the way to the Quarterfinal Showdown.

11–12-Year-old Division

The course: Hopscotch, Lunatic Ledges, Spike Crossing, Broken Bridge, Spring Forward, 13-foot Warped Wall (one hand hold)

Seeding Round: Dylan Yee vs Jake Scionti

Jake controlled the race from start to finish and took the win.

Seeding Round: Charlie Ball vs Olivia Lopez

Charlie raced out to the early lead, but Olivia passed him on Lunatic Ledges.

Charlie caught up on Spike Crossing and the pair were neck and neck.

It was Olivia who finished Spring Forward first.

But Charlie passed her on the top of the Wall and took the thrilling win!!!

Knockout Round: Charlie Ball vs Dylan Yee

Charlie took a big lead early.

But Dylan passed Charlie following Lunatic Ledges.

The advantage didn’t last long as Charlie took the lead for good on Spike Crossing on his way to the Quarterfinal Showdown.

Knockout Round: Jake Scionti vs Olivia Lopez

Jake’s fastest time is 7 seconds faster than Olivia’s.

And Jake showed that speed early on the first two obstacles.

“The Six Pack Ninja” did not let up as he kept the lead from start to finish on his way to the Quarterfinal Showdown.

13–14-year-old Division

The course: Hopscotch, Lunatic Ledges, Sideways, Broken Bridge, Spinball Wizard, 13-foot Warped Wall (no hand holds)

Seeding Round: Jordan Carr vs Phil Folsom

Jordan raced out fast but a minor stumble on Lunatic Ledges allowed Phil to take the lead.

Phil kept that lead with no mistakes as Jordan stumble again on Broken Bridge.

Both ninjas made it up the buzzer, but Phil hit the buzzer first.

Seeding Round: Secorra Heinrichs vs Joseph Rouse

Secorra fell on Spinball Wizard and Joseph hit the buzzer.

Knockout Round: Phil Folsom vs Secorra Heinrichs

Phil hit the buzzer and advanced to the Quarterfinal Showdown.

Knockout Round: Joseph Rouse vs Jordan Carr

It was tight for most of the course.

That was until Jordan fell on Broken Bridge (the same obstacle she stumbled on in her first race.

Joseph fell on Spinball Wizard, but he’s onto the Quarterfinal Showdown

9–10-year-old Quarterfinal Showdown: Max Salebra vs Brandon Avila

It was an even race until Liquid Pipes when Brandon shortened his reach to take the lead.

But Max ran him down to make them even going up the Warped Wall.

And it was on the Warped Wall that Max slipped and fell.

Brandon took advantage, climbing up the Warped Wall and advancing to the Semifinals!!!

11–12-year-old Quarterfinal Showdown: Charlie Ball vs Jake Scionti

Charlie put the pedal to the medal to start the race.

And that put pressure on the Six Pack Ninja.

He tried a big move on Lunatic Ledges but fell.

Charlie went ahead and hit the buzzer, advancing to the semifinals!!!

13–14-year-old Quarterfinal Showdown: Phil Folsom vs Joseph Rouse

Phil used long strides to take a big lead early.

Joseph tried to keep pace, but Phil put forth a near flawless run.

Phil climbed the wall and hit the buzzer as he advanced to the semifinals!!!

11–12-year-old division: Charlie Ball

13–14-year-old division: Phil Folsom
