TV Recap: S03E7 – American Ninja Warrior Junior 2021 Qualifying Round 7

American Ninja Warrior Junior Season 3 2021, Episode 7 – Qualifying #7

Time for another week of qualifiers on American Ninja Warrior Jr.

Let’s review the format:

Ninjas will compete in three divisions: 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old, and 13-14 years old. They will compete in head to head races.

The qualifying rounds feature four ninjas per division. They will start in a seeding round, with the two fastest ninjas from that round taking on the two slowest ninjas in the knockout round.

The winners of the two knockout rounds move on to the final showdown, where the winner will move on to the quarterfinals.

Ninja Mentors: Jesse Labreck and Najee Richardson

9–10-Year-Old Division

The course: Hopskotch, Lunatic Ledges, Liquid Pipe, Broken Bridge, Flying Saucers, 13 Foot Warped Wall (with two hand holds)

Seeding Round: Colton Davis vs Liz Polsgrove

It’s the Sizzle Ninja (because Colton likes to grill for his family) vs Lightning Liz (who wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up).

Colton took the first steps on the course.

But Lightning Liz passed him on Lunatic Ledges.

Things tightened up a bit on Flying Saucers, but Liz held off Colton to take the win.

Seeding Round: Remi Cassada vs Isabella Martinez

Isabella was recently diagnosed a type 1 diabetic. And ninja helps her control her blood sugar. Meanwhile, Remi is nicknamed the Mighty Hawk.

This one was tight after two obstacles!!!

The pair stayed even until Isabella took the lead on Broken Bridge.

Things got tight as both ninjas got caught spinning on Flying Saucers.

But it was Bella Lache who finished the fifth obstacle first and took the win after she hit a buzzer.

Knockout Round: Liz Polsgrove vs Remi Cassada

Liz took the lead on Liquid Pipes and carried that momentum all the way to the Final Showdown.

Knockout Round: Isabella Martinez vs Colton Davis

Isabella got her second buzzer on the way to the Final Showdown.

11–12-Year-old Division

The course: Hopskotch, Lunatic Ledges, Spike Crossing, Broken Bridge, Spring Forward, 13-foot Warped Wall (one hand hold)

Seeding Round: Ellie Brincefield vs Jazzy Skye

Ellie is the Drama Queen Ninja because of her love of singing and acting, while Jazzy is a fellow performer (and aspiring songwriter) who is a part of the Fun Squad introduced earlier in the season.

Ellie left Lunatic Ledges with the lead.

Trying to catch up, Jazzy fell awkwardly at the end of Spike Crossing.

Ellie went ahead and hit her first buzzer.

Seeding Round: Kaden Forsha vs Charlie Ball

Kaden is a juggler who speaks out to raise awareness about his ADHD and dyslexia diagnosis, while Charlie is running for his dad (who quarantined for about a year during the pandemic as he was working as a delivery driver).

Charlie raced out to the early lead.

But Kaden stayed close behind on the first half of the course.

Kaden tried to make a quick move on Spring Forward to catch up, but he missed the 2nd spring.

Charlie hit the buzzer after setting a great pace for the rest of the round.

Knockout Round: Charlie Ball vs Jazzy Skye

Charlie led from start to finish on his way to the Final Showdown.

Knockout Round: Ellie Brincefield vs Kaden Forsha

Due to an injury in the seeding rounds, Kaden stepped aside from the competition. Ellie will move onto the Final Showdown.

13–14-year-old Division

The course: Hopskotch, Lunatic Ledges, Sideways, Broken Bridge, Spinball Wizard, 13-foot Warped Wall (no hand holds)

Seeding Round: Jacob Arnstein vs Tate Allen

Jacob held a fundraiser to raise money for the orphanage he came from in Guatemala, while “Big Game Tate” has a second and a third-place finish from previous ANW seasons.

Tate has added seven inches and it showed with his big strides on Hopskotch.

But Tate shockingly fell on Lunatic Ledges

Jacob went ahead and finished the course to set the tone for his qualifying.

Seeding Round: Sydney Yee vs Talia Gewirtz

Sydney joined the Boy Scouts shortly after girls were allowed to join, while Talia surfs and snowboards.

Talia fell on Hopskotch, and Sydney fell on Spinball Wizard.

Knockout Round: Jacob Arnstein vs Talia Gewirtz

Jacob hit his second buzzer on the way to the Final Showdown.

Knockout Round: Sydney Yee vs Tate Allen

Tate got past Lunatic Ledges this time, but Sydney was not far behind him.

Tate got a little more separation on Broken Bridge.

And Big Game Tate took that momentum all the way to the Final Showdown.

Sydney hit her first buzzer as well.

9–10-year-old Final Showdown: Liz Polsgrove vs Isabella Martinez

Lightning Liz took the lead after two obstacles.

That lead was almost a full obstacle as Liz approached Flying Saucers.

And Liz held on all the way up the Warped Wall and to the Quarterfinals.

11–12-year-old Final Showdown: Charlie Ball vs Ellie Brincefield

Both ninjas took their time on Lunatic Ledges.

But Charlie was not taking his time anywhere else on the course.

Charlie kept up another blistering pace on his way to the Quarterfinals.

13–14-year-old Final Showdown: Jacob Arnstein vs Tate Allen

It’s time for a big-time rematch!!!

Tate made quick work of the entire first half of the course skipping steps left and right.

Trying to catch up, Jacob fell on the dismount of Sideways.

Big Game Tate hit the buzzer with his fastest time ever by 15 seconds on his way to the quarterfinals.
