American Ninja Warrior Junior Kids Season 2 2020, Episode 8 – Quarterfinal #2
It’s time for the second quarterfinal episode of American Ninja Warrior Jr!!!
All the winners from previous episodes return to compete in the quarterfinal round, with the winner of each division advancing to the finals at the end of the season.
9-10 Year Old Division (Ninja Mentor: Najee Richardson)
The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Spider Walls, Block Run, Flying Squirrel, 13 Foot Warped Wall (with two hand holds)
Wildcard Race: Noah Daul vs Zav Maningo
Noah’s best time was five seconds faster from the last round.
“Goliath” took a big lead after Little Dipper.
But Noah fell on Spider Walls.
Zav finished the course with his fastest time of the competition so far.
Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Jake Scionti vs Nathaneal Honvu
It’s the “Six Pack Ninja” vs “Ninja Nutin” in a battle of unbeatens.
“Nutin” skipped the net on Little Dipper to take the lead.
That put the pressure on Jake, and it showed as, once again, the Spider Walls claimed another victim.
Nathaneal moves on!!!!
Quarterfinal Matchup #2: Charlie Ball vs Zav Maningo
It’s matchup number 3 between these two. But this will be the final showdown between these two this season.
And Zav comes by it honestly, as he and his brother Jonah (who will compete later in the season) compete with each other on everything.
Charlie took the lead going into Spider Walls.
And that lead only grew as he went straight into Flying Squirrel.
Charlie never let up, turning in his fastest time of the competition and moving onto the next round!!!
11-12 Year old Division (Ninja Mentor: Jessie Graff)
The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Double Tilt Ladders, Block Run, Wing Nuts, 13 foot Warped Wall (one hand hold)
Wildcard Race: Andreas Johnson vs Rebekah Cornwall
Rebekah made a standing landing on Little Dipper.
The lead she built from that move gave Rebekah a solid advantage all the way to Flying Squirrel.
Rebekah moved onto the Quarterfinals with her fastest time of the competition.
Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Sienna Perez vs Hunter Rowland
Sienna took the lead after Hunter got caught on the Cargo Net of Little Dipper.
The lead only grew as Sienna headed into Flying Squirrel.
Sienna led wire to wire as she hit the buzzer and advanced to the next round!!!
Quarterfinal Matchup #2: James Scott vs Rebekah Campbell
Rebekah raced out to the early lead.
But the bar fell off on Little Dipper, and Rebekah’s competition came to a shocking end.
James moves onto the next round!!!
13-14 year old Division (Ninja Mentor: Drew Dreschel)
The course: Floating Steps, Little Dipper, Crazy Cliffhanger, Block Run, Sky Hooks, 13-foot Warped Wall (no hand holds)
Wildcard Race: Kaden Lebsack vs Emma Liskey
Kaden raced out to the lead early.
He maintained that lead all the way to the Sky Hooks, but Emma stayed close behind.
Kaden continued his torid pace on the course leading from start to finish as he moved onto the quarterfinals.
Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Isaiah Thomas vs Blake Feero
It’s the “Fly Boy Ninja” vs “Blake Don’t Break.”
Blake started out with his usual fast pace.
But Isaiah kept the pressure on.
And that pressure showed as Blake stumbled and fell into the water before the launch on Sky Hooks.
All Isaiah had to do was complete Sky Hooks to win.
And he did, pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the competition so far!!!
Quarterfinal Matchup #2: Addy Herman vs Kaden Lebsack
Kaden has been doing nothing but posting sub 30 times all competition, so Addy will need to top her personal best significantly to have a shot.
She was right behind Kaden halfway through the course.
But Kaden’s speed on the course was just too much as he recorded another personal best.
Kaden hit the buzzer and advanced to the next round.
9-10 year old Final Showdown: Nathanael Honvu vs Charlie Ball
Charlie came out flying, but Nathaneal kept the pressure on early.
As a result, Charlie slipped and fell on the Spider Walls (a third victim for obstacle #3)
Nathaneal raced past and advanced to the Finals!!!
11-12 year old Final Showdown: Sienna Perez vs James Scott
In all four of James’s races, his competition has fallen on the course.
That wasn’t happening this race.
Sienna raced out to the lead after a small stumble by James on Little Dipper.
James missed the transfer on Double Tilt Ladders as Sienna made a huge dismount.
Sienna kept the lead all the way to Wingnuts, but James caught up.
The two were even racing up the Warped Wall.
But it was Sienna who hit the buzzer first and advanced to the Finals!!!
13-14 year old Final Showdown: Isaiah Thomas vs Kaden Lebsack
Can Isaiah take down another lightning fast ninja?
“The Fly Boy Ninja” was putting fourth one of his best runs of the competition so far.
But Kaden’s speed kept the pressure on.
When Isaiah slipped and fell on Sky Hooks, it clinched Kaden’s spot in the Finals!!!
Advancing to the Finals:
9-10 year old division: Nathanael Honvu (joining Daniel Woods)
11-12 year old division: Sienna Perez (joining Tate Allen)
13-14 year old division: Kaden Lebsack (Devan Alexander)
Come back next week for the start of another round of qualifiers.
