TV Recap: S02E14 – American Ninja Warrior Junior Kids 2020

American Ninja Warrior Junior Kids Season 2 2020, Episode 14

Just one more qualifier episodes left after this in this season of American Ninja Warrior Jr.!!!

Let’s review this season’s format:

-Just like last season, ninjas will compete in three divisions: 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old, and 13-14 years old. They will compete in head to head races.

The qualifying rounds feature four ninjas per division. They will start in a seeding round, with the two fastest ninjas from that round taking on the two slowest ninjas in the knockout round.

The winners of the two knockout rounds move on to the final showdown, where the winner will move on to the quarterfinals.

-New this season: instead of waiting until the end of the season to see all the winners, there will be a quarterfinal round episode after three episodes to determine who goes on to the semifinals.

-With the new format, there will only be three semifinal qualifiers, so the fourth spot will be determined with the two fastest non-winners competing for a wildcard spot.

9-10 Year Old Division (Ninja Mentor: Barclay Stockett)

The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Spider Walls, Block Run, Flying Squirrel, 13 Foot Warped Wall (with two hand holds)

Seeding Round: Ryan Cooper vs John David Spatola

It’s “Ninja Coop” vs “The Dude.” Ryan is a baseball player and created ninja trading cards, while John David is a trick shot expert and whose granddad is Coach K, the all-time legendary coach out of Duke.

The pair was even going into Spider Walls.

It was on the third obstacle that Ryan took the lead.

John David kept things close, but “Ninja Coop” kept the lead all the way up the Warped Wall and took the race.

Seeding Round: Daisy O’Brien vs Maddie Evers

Maddie’s hobbies include organizing and gymnastics, while Daisy is a returning ninja who is a singer, dancer, and actress.

Daisy raced out to the early lead.

11-12 Year old Division (Ninja Mentor: Grant McCartney)

The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Double Tilt Ladders, Block Run, Wing Nuts, 13 foot Warped Wall (one hand hold)

Seeding Round: Luke Milman vs Nacssa Garemore

Nacssa made the top 8 in the 9-10 year old division last season, while Luke has added two inches since his own run from last season.

Luke stumbled on the first obstacle, but skipping the net on Little Dipper gave Luke the lead after two obstacles.

Nacssa made a huge leap on Double Tilt Ladders to retake the lead.

Luke was close behind as both made quick work of the Wingnuts.

But Luke’s feet caught the edge of the platform and he fell back into the water.

An impressive start by Nacssa as he takes the win in his first race back.

Seeding Round: Lindsey Ferrara vs Seena LoScalzo

It’s the “Blocker Ninja” vs the “Nature Ninja.” Lindsey is a soccer player who trains ninja four days a week, while Seena loves nature and encourages others to get outside.

Both ninjas nearly missed the net on Little Dipper, but both held on in an even race after two.

Lindsey’s foot hit the water on Double Tilt Ladders, but she came out of the third obstacle in front.

Lindsey kept that lead all the way up the Warped Wall. She climbed up despite the wet foot and took the win.

Knockout Round: Lindsey Ferrara vs Luke Milman

John David’s time was good enough to place him in the 2nd Wildcard spot with one qualifier remaining.

11-12 year old Final Showdown: Luke Milman vs Nacssa Garemore

Rematch #2

And these two have best times separated by a single second.

Nacssa had a slight lead after two obstacles.

But Luka made a huge move on Double Tilt Ladders to take the lead.

Nacssa wasn’t done yet, making record work of the Wingnuts.

But Luke’s time moved him to the top of the wildcard leaderboard a full nine seconds ahead of the second spot.

The final rematch of the day!!!

The pair was even through two obstacles.
