Creating a New Sport

Going from zero to one is always the hardest part of any business.

When we decided to take the emerging trend of Ninja Obstacle Racing and work together with the Ninja Pro Athletes it was a turning point in the history of this incredible nascent sport. For the first time, Ninjas are now able to compete for serious prize money (currently over $50,000 at our next event with plans for $100k – $250k per event in 2018 and beyond.)

Everyone knows how incredible these Ninjas are, and what most people don’t realize is that the TV show is actually a reality show that is “made for TV” and not actually designed to be a real sport. Most of the Ninjas are out of pocket, having to pay to compete on the show. Last season there were over 75,000 applications to the show, and less than a thousand were chosen to compete and even fewer were televised. That being said, the show is incredible and many a family is glued to the screen on Monday nights with the kids doing obstacles on the furniture in the living room. I know my son does.

Now, there is finally an event for the whole family that includes play time on incredible obstacles, kids’ classes with the Ninja Pros and several divisions of real honest-to-goodness rule-bound athletic competition for serious prize money.

Ultimately, after almost 10 years of training, and waiting, Ninja Sport finally has been born, and its name is the Wolfpack Ninja Tour. During this time, there has been incredible grass roots movements and viable businesses that have sprouted up to address this market pain and latent demand: the NNL, the UNAA, Pitfall and others have provided Ninjas with an outlet for their desire for competition. These events, although not well funded, have laid the groundwork for a cohesive community and the beginnings of actual Ninja Sport.

Today, the Wolfpack Ninja Tour is a fast growing live event series with stops planned nationally in 2018. It is a brand that is growing multiple verticals and is experiencing rapid growth.

The Wolfpack Ninjas brand is indeed owned and operated by the Ninjas. With over 30 of the top Ninjas working together, the impact the brand is making on the health of our kids is starting to garner attention by the media. Here is a Spike TV production (a short spot for a longer series available on Spike’s VOW):

Most importantly, the Ninjas believe strongly in the mission and the higher purpose of the tour, which is not only to create a sport that will last 100 years and more, but to reverse the epidemic of obesity in our country that has a stranglehold on over a third of our youth.

Listen to the Ninjas take on it:

If you are excited by what the Ninjas are up to; either the sport we are creating, or the work we are doing to help change a culture of obesity, consider partnering with the Wolfpack Ninja Tour. At least follow this incredible story on the socials: we are @wolfpackninjas on IG, FB & TW. Please contact President & Co-Founder Noah Kaufman, MD for business opportunities and potential partnerships that utilize the Ninja’s massive social reach and engagement along with the true enterprise value of the Wolfpack Ninja Tour. I am a physician & social entrepreneur and am keen on making a dent in the epidemic of childhood obesity and diabetes in America and around the world. To this end, I have grown our brand, Wolfpack Ninjas, with business professionals who are dedicated to amplifying the brand message. I am the leader of the Wolfpack (www.wolfpackninjas.com) and a contestant on NBC's hit show, American Ninja Warrior. As president of the Wolfpack Ninja Tour, I have organized all the top Ninjas into owner/operators of a massive new National Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) Tour called the Wolfpack Ninja Tour.
