Casting calls have started for American Ninja Warrior Season 12 in Washington DC

Monday evening, the first casting calls started to go out for the Washington DC filming location of American Ninja Warrior Season 12. With filming for the Washington DC city qualifiers and city finals taking place from April 6-7 and April 11-12 at the DC Armory, casting calls will take place over the next few weeks.

Whereas in previous years each city would see around 100 ninjas getting the call to compete, for Washington DC and St. Louis, we will see nearly 200 ninjas getting the call for each city. This is due to the fact that this year the show will only tape in 3 cities – but the episodes for DC and St. Louis will tape over two weekends each, giving us 5 qualifiers in total. That change from 6 qualifiers to 5 qualifiers this year is due to the fact NBC will be broadcasting the Olympics this summer as reported by American Ninja Warrior Nation, cutting into the available number of weeks that American Ninja Warrior has to air episodes. Although both St. Louis and Washington DC will have 200 ninjas for each city, the Los Angeles episodes will still only have around 100 ninjas, due to it filming one set of qualifying & final episodes over one weekend.

We will be keeping a running list of ninjas who have gotten the call to compete in Washington DC here.

The first set of qualifiers and city finals in Los Angeles California is set to at Universal Studios Backlot in two weeks from March 13-14. Based on the list of ninjas who have gotten the call to compete in LA already, that qualifier is close to being set, but we’ve seen one or two people get the call this week, so there are likely a few more still to be made there too.
