American Ninja Warrior Junior Kids Season 2 2020, Episode 16 – Quarterfinal #4

It’s time for the last quarterfinal episode of American Ninja Warrior Jr!!!

All the winners from previous episodes return to compete in the quarterfinal round, with the winner of each division advancing to the finals at the end of the season.

9-10 Year Old Division (Ninja Mentor: Barclay Stockett)

The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Spider Walls, Block Run, Flying Squirrel, 13 Foot Warped Wall (with two hand holds)

Wildcard Race: John David Spatola vs Jeff Baumgarten

“The Dude” raced out to the early lead.

But John David struggled with the Little Dipper while Jeff made quick work of it.

Jeff maintained that lead all the way to Flying Squirrel when John David, trying to catch up, fell short of the bar on the fifth obstacle.

Jeff hit the buzzer and moved onto the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Ryan Cooper vs Kaden Forsha

Kaden was a top 8 ninja last season, while “Ninja Coop” collects ninja cards, and many of those cards are autographed.

Both ninjas bring an unbeaten record into this race.

“Ninja Coop raced out to the early lead.

But Kaden caught up on Little Dipper.

Things were even going into the fifth obstacle when Ryan slipped and fell on Flying Squirrel.

Once Kaden competed the fifth obstacle, he clinced his spot in the Final Showdown of the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Matchup #2: Reeder Smith vs Jeff Baumgarten

Reeder has the fastest time of anyone competing in this quarterfinal for his age group, while Jeff looks to pull an upset.

Reeder stumbled on Little Dipper, giving Jeff the early lead.

Reeder passed him Block Run and , once again, Flying Squirrel was the difference.

Reeder made quick work of the fifth obstacle, clinching the win and advancing to the Final Showdown.

11-12 Year old Division (Ninja Mentor: Grant McCartney)

The course: Shrinking Steps, Little Dipper, Double Tilt Ladders, Block Run, Wing Nuts, 13 foot Warped Wall (one hand hold)

Wildcard Race: Michael Sherman vs Luke Milman

It’s the “Afro-Ninja” vs the “Shermanator.”

Luke stumbled his way through the first obstacle while Michael lost his glasses.

Both were even despite the obstacles.

It was on Double Tilt Ladders that the “Afro Ninja” took the lead for good.

And with his fastest time of the competition so far, Luke advanced to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Emerson Smith vs Nacssa Garemore

Emerson, the aspiring architect, overcame a loss in her first race to qualify for the quarterfinals, while Nacssa put forward the age group’s fastest time in qualifying.

Nacssa and Emerson were even through two.

But a ten foot dismount on Double Tilt Ladders gave Nacssa the lead.

Emerson stayed on Nacssa’s heels all the way to the end.

It was Nacssa who hit the buzzer a split second before Emerson to advance to the Final Showdown.

Quarterfinal Matchup #2: Paul Woods vs Luke Milman

Paul brings an unbeaten record and a significant height advantage to this race, but Luke’s best time is not far behind Paul’s.

Luke raced out to an early lead, but a stumble going into Little Dipper allowed Paul to race ahead.

Luke caught up on Double Tilt Ladders and the pair was even going into Block Run.

It was there that Paul slipped and fell.

Luke finished the course and advanced to the Final Showdown.

13-14 year old Division (Ninja Mentor: Meagan Martin)

The course: Floating Steps, Little Dipper, Crazy Cliffhanger, Block Run, Sky Hooks, 13-foot Warped Wall (no hand holds)

Wildcard Race: Sophia Lavallee vs Zach Hammer

Zach has been faster, but he’s fallen twice. Sophia has finished all her races.

The two were even going into Crazy Cliffhanger.

Zach took a big lead there on the third obstacle.

Sophia stayed close behind and was one ring behind Zach on Sky Hooks.

It was there that Zach lost control and fell.

Sophia finished the fifth obstacle and moved onto the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Matchup #1: Kai Beckstrand vs Joaquin Rayford

Joaquin has the height advantage while Kai has the experience advantage, winning the 11-12 year old division last season.

Kai and Joaquin both came out fast.

Kai took the lead on Crazy Cliffhanger.

And he would keep that lead all the way to the end, hitting the buzzer and advancing to the Quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal Matchup #2: Zachary Osborn vs Sophia Lavallee   

Zachary finished just ahead of Sophia in the Final Showdown of their qualifying round.

This one ended early, with Zachary falling on the Little Dipper.

Sophia hit the buzzer and advanced to the Final Showdown.

9-10 year old Final Showdown: Kaden Forsha vs Reeder Smith

A battle of unbeatens for a spot in the Finals!!!

Reeder raced out the to the early lead.

Reeder kept that lead most of the way, but Kaden was right behind him.

Trying to catch up, Kaden came up just short of the platform on the one touch dismount on Flying Squirrel.

Reeder hit the buzzer and advanced to the Finals!!!

11-12 year old Final Showdown: Nacssa Garemore vs Luke Milman

Luke ran out to a quick lead, but Nacssa caught up quickly.

The two stayed even halfway through the course.

It was Nacssa who made the quickest dismount on Sky Hooks, and that proved to be the difference.

Nacssa hit the buzzer a split second before Luke to advance to the Finals!!!

13-14 year old Final Showdown: Kai Beckstrand vs Sophia Lavallee

Let’s see who can take that last spot in the Finals!!!

Kai and Sophia were step for step through two obstacles.

Kai took the lead on Crazy Cliffhanger.

And he kept that lead all the way to the end, hitting the buzzer and advancing to the Finals!!!

Advancing to the Finals:

9-10 year old division: Reeder Smith

11-12 year old division: Nacssa Garemore

13-14 year old division: Kai Beckstrand
