Two Seasons of American Ninja Warrior will tape this spring: Seasons 15 & Season 16 of ANW

There has been a lot of news this week about Season 15 of American Ninja Warrior.

This included information about filming dates & taping locations, as well as the rumor of a new format for Season 15 of ANW that includes a head to head format in the semifinals. All of this news was first reported by the r/anw subbredit.

However, along with the information about Season 15 of ANW, the producers dropped huge news regarding Season 16 of American Ninja Warrior – they will be taping both seasons this spring, essentially back to back!

The way it will work is the qualifying episodes and then the semifinals episodes for Season 15 will be taped first in Los Angeles in early March. A few days later, the qualifying rounds and then the semi-final rounds for Season 16 of American Ninja Warrior will be taped.

Then, at the National Finals in Las Vegas in May, a similar taping will occur. Season 15 finals will be taped, and then, Season 16 ANW finals will be taped.

The producers note that the same ninjas may be invited to compete in both seasons, while others might be in just one or the other.

The letter does not mention whether this means there will be two seasons of American Ninja Warrior this year – or if American Ninja Warrior Season 16 will still be released in 2024, and it is being filmed now as a cost-saving measure.

This does have the unfortunate side effect of if a ninja gets injured just before or during the filming of Season 15, this also likely means this will negatively impact them for Season 16 as well.

The exact language from the producers was:

Finally, another big, change is that we will be shooting both Seasons 15 and 16 of ANW this spring. In LA in March, we will shoot Qualifying and Semis of Season 15, followed a few days later by the Qualifying and Semis of Season 16. Then, in Vegas in early May, we’ll complete Season 15, and then Season 16. Some ninjas will be invited to compete in both seasons, and some only in one.
